Description

The late Bob Homme created and hosted this famous classic children's show. He had his puppet friends Rusty the rooster and Jerome Giraffe talk about having fun and learning lessons together. After he invites you to his castle The Friendly Giant would set up three chairs for his guests. First small chair one of his guests, a bigger chair for two more people to curl up in, and a nice big rocking chair for folks who like to rock. Those three really had a lot of fun together. I saw one episode on YouTube and it did look quite interesting. The Friendly Giant and his friends always had interesting talks and played games with each other. And sometimes they have a sing-along.
And at the end, The Friendly Giant would take out his tin whistle and play the theme song. Sometimes it's a recorder. Annie puts the chairs away saying goodbye. I hope you approve of this drawing of this legend of children's television.

This is wonderful. I remember that show.

Also, the name of the theme is "Early One Morning"... youtu.be/Nd1tSv7p16A it's at least 300 years old!

Fun fact: Jerome's unusual color scheme dated from when the show was in black and white, it was better contrast on the camera. When they switched to filming in color, they briefly colored him like a normal giraffe. And then people complained, both those who saw him and preferred him in the unusual scheme, and also, many people still had black and white TVs (until the 80s/early 90s they were common)
